Check in with yourself

Four areas of life and a slider for each, in plain language, about 30 seconds. It shows where things sit today and how they have moved since last time. Free, no account needed — and a check-in is a starting point for a conversation, never a diagnosis.

How results are used

Your check-ins build a private trend line in your account, and give Teman context for your next conversation. They are visible to a counsellor only if risk review requires it, or you choose to share.

What four sliders cannot catch

A total is a blunt instrument. It will notice a hard week and it will miss someone who is doing well in every area and still thinking about suicide — which is exactly what the clinical questionnaires we used to run here were for. So a low result opens a case for a counsellor, the 24/7 human lines sit under every result rather than only the bad ones, and the crisis path in the chat never depended on a check-in at all.

Why this one is ours

The four areas here are Teman's own wording. The published alternative — the ORS — is free to individual practitioners but licensed per organisation, and its licence forbids electronic conversion outright; we also no longer want clinical cutoffs on a page that is not a clinic. So nothing on this page is reproduced from a third party, and there is no licence attached to it.
